Gifted to Serve: The Gift of Exhortation

Text: Romans 12:1-8a

This week, we learn about the fourth of the 'motivational gifts,' given by God, that motivate us to ministry – exhortation. This message points us to a key unsung hero in the Bible who illustrated this gift well. Truly, the Church would not be where it is today without this wonderful gift. Through his example, we see how we, too, should seek to encourage one another to be all that God wants us to be.

The Joy of the Journey

This week Rev. Richard Seefried, former Pastor of FBC Marilla, NY, brings us a message from Numbers 10:29. We are going to discover the truth that our Christian life is a journey. It starts the moment we are saved and ends when we get to heaven. This earthly pilgrimage is a walk of faith, as we trust in the promises of God. Our destination (heaven) is beautiful, but the journey itself can be beautiful, too. Get ready to be challenged to experience “The Joy of The Journey”. If there is one thing Christians need today, it is a renewed sense of the joy of the Lord in our lives!

Speaker Bio: Rev. Richard Seefried is a retired pastor, having served 4 churches over the course of 44 years. His last ministry was at First Baptist Church in Marilla, NY, where he served as Sr. Pastor for 18 years. Seefried is also the author of “Strength for Today,” a daily Bible study guide. He and his wife Nancy now reside in Harrisonburg, VA and are members of Crosslink Community Church.
