Text: 1 Corinthians 1:18-31
On September 11, 2001, America was attacked by terrorists who sought to destroy as many lives as possible. In the days that followed, our nation was challenged to “Never Forget” what had occurred. It was a call to never forget the lives that were lost, the reality of evil, the power of courage, and the gift of sacrifice. At the time, it seemed impossible that we would ever forget such a moment, but through the years with other distractions, divisions, and discouragements, we have in many ways forgotten the significance of that moment. As Christians, our calling is not to remember 9/11, but we are called to always remember the cross. We are called to embrace it, remember it, proclaim it, and model its power through our transformed lives. This message is a clear call to never forget the cross and its power to transform lives today.
