More Than a Name: Our Identity in Christ

Text: 1 John 5:9-21

Much of the world today makes a big deal about our individual identities. The world says, “Be your own person. You do you. Be who you want to be,” etc. As a result, we all set out to discover who we are so that we can be our own person and live our best life now. In doing so, people often find their identity in all sorts of things – their possessions, their “people,” power, pleasures, and all sorts of things which ultimately do not matter in eternity. What matters in eternity is whether or not we know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It is only when our identity is found in Christ that we can know the joy of eternal life and fulfill the purpose for which we were made. We invite you to listen today to discover all that we have available to us in Jesus.

More Than a Name: Practicing Perfect Love

Text: 1 John 4:7-21

There are many ways that we might express love for others, but God calls us to love one another in the body of Christ with a perfect love. This sounds and seems impossible to us because we know that all mankind is imperfect. However, in 1 John 4 God reveals the source of this perfect love, the way that we can walk in it, and how it impacts others around us. We invite you to listen today so that you can experience and express this perfect love.

More Than a Name: Walking in the Spirit

Text: 1 John 3:23-4:6

There are many voices, opinions, and ideals being represented in the world today. How can we know what is true? How can we determine what is from God and what isn’t? Even in the Church today, with so many denominations, differences, and even divisions, how can we be certain of God’s plan and purpose? It all boils down to the Person of the Holy Spirit. Who is He? What does He do? How does He work in our lives today? All of these questions and more are answered in this message, and we pray that you will listen and be encouraged today.
