There are many things that can hinder us in our walk with the Lord and our service to Him. The hindrance discussed in this message is one that is rarely mentioned but affects many of us in harmful ways. How we view ourselves and others will greatly determine our effectiveness in the Lord’s work. Text: Judges 2:11-23
It is the slow fade that gets us where we don’t want to be without realizing that we don’t want to be there. The snare of the slow fade doesn’t begin with a radically aware and auspicious decision. It begins with an abdication of what we know is right and what we know to be righteous. The slow fade is otherwise known as the Hindrance of Compromise. We are always one decision, one word, one action away from damaging what has taken, perhaps, years to develop. We will discover in our study of the Word that the Israelites were living in a day of pluralism – not so different than today. We need to shift from the Hindrance of Compromise to the Hope of Christ.

The issue of forgiveness is something that we all wrestle with because we have all done wrong and we have all been wronged. The impact of forgiveness is so important because how we act towards others also impacts our relationship with God. Fortunately, God can relate to the pain that we feel when we have been sinned against and He shows us how, through His power, we can have victory in this area of our life and forgive others.
