Go Fish: The Proof of the Gospel

Text: 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10

For a variety of reasons, many people in our culture question the truth and relevancy of the Gospel message. Sadly, even many of the actions or inactions of the church further feed this doubt. However, the Gospel is still true, still relevant, and still powerfully changing lives. This message points us to four powerful truths that prove the Gospel is still the Good News.

Go Fish: Going with the Gospel

Text: Acts 1:1-14

Most people are living busy lives, running here and there with all sorts of obligations and commitments. As a result, many are distracted from the mission that Jesus calls us to. In this message, we learn how the mission isn’t an additional thing we must add to our lives. Instead, it should be at the very heart of who we are and what we do so that as we are going, we go intentionally as missionaries for Jesus.

Go Fish: More Than Words

Text: Matthew 5:14-16

When fishing, every fisherman understands that he must use the right bait to get the fish’s attention. In fishing for men, it is also important that we get the attention of those we are trying to reach. It is not loud words, bold professions, or clever strategies that are most effective. This message shows us what Jesus Himself explained we must do and what must be true in our life if we are to be an effective fisher of men.

Go Fish: Learning from the Master

Text: John 4:3-30, 39-42

Jesus commissioned His early disciples to fish for men. He then spent the next three years investing in them and teaching them how to fish for men. As rookie fishermen, they were constantly looking to Jesus for direction and instruction, which He gave through His words and His actions. Fortunately for us, the Master fisherman is still directing and instructing us today. In this message, we look closely at His example so that we, too, can be effective fishers of men.
