In this message, we learn the blueprint to a healthy and happy home. As the husband and wife are in right relationship with the Lord this empowers them to relate properly to one another. Wives are to submit to their husbands because it is pleasing to the Lord. Husbands are to love their wives as Christ loved the church. The only way that these callings can be accomplished is by being filled with the Word of God and being led by the Spirit of God.

Text: Colossians 3:5-11

As we study the book of Colossians, we see that the first two chapter of the book are rich with theology and reveal a great deal about who Jesus is and what He has done for us. But in chapters 3 & 4, the book takes a bit of a turn. We move from explanation to application; from knowledge to action. In Colossians 3:5-11, the apostle Paul shows us how to put our faith into practice by specifically encouraging us to “take off our old selves and put on our new selves” just like taking off old, dirty, smelly clothes, and replacing them with brand new, custom made clothing without spot or blemish. In this message titled, “Only Jesus Can Give You a New Wardrobe,” we’ll see several sins that we are to take off, the consequences of those sins, and how to be renewed daily in our fight against temptation and sin.

In this message we are reminded that Jesus will one day come again to gather His bride to Himself. Knowing that He is coming should have a dramatic impact on how we live our lives today. As we live here on this earth we must set our mind on and seek after the things above and not be distracted by the many things which tend to rob our affection for Jesus.
