Even though the average life expectancy in America is 80 years, nobody is guaranteed another day. Jesus explains this to the Jews in John 8:21-30, telling them that they will die in their sins if they do not believe. His message is for us, too because Life is Short, Eternity is Not; Follow Jesus while you still can!
Gospel of John: Jesus is the Light of Life
Darkness makes life difficult, but Jesus is the light of life. We would not attempt to drive a car in the dark without headlights, we would not cut the grass in the darkness of night and we would not even look for our socks without turning on the light. John illustrates for us that Jesus is the light of life and it begs the question, why try to live life in the dark when Jesus is the light of life?
Psalm 23: The Shepherd King
No Psalm in the entire Bible is more loved or better known than Psalm 23. It has been referred to as “everybody’s psalm.” However we tend to misunderstand or understand incompletely the full meaning and application of the Psalm to our lives. This is a Psalm of Trust. We can learn how to more fully understand and trust of Savior, Jesus, our Shepherd King whether we are basking in the green pastures or stumbling through the shadows and valleys of life.

This is completely backwards and the Bible is crystal clear on how someone come to follow Jesus. In our third message of BASIC TRAINING, we will study “Our Enlistment: Justification.”
